I forgot to write about the second best part of last Wednesday. The first was that I sold out so quickly, the second was that a hovercraft (yes, they really do exist!) came onto the beach. Unfortunately, it was because a guy was passed out for some unknown reason, so the Coast Guard was coming to check him out. Everyone on the beach was entranced by the sight of this massive vehicle approaching the beach and then coming up onto it. It didn't come in very far, maybe just to the waterline. When it "landed" it deflated and you could see the tiny guys in the cockpit lowering down. I'm not sure what happened to the guy they came for. Someone said they saw a defibrillator, but I didn't even see if they took him off the beach on a stretcher. It added some excitement, though everyone was much to enthralled to buy lemonade for awhile.
I realized today that this weekend is the last of August, and then it is Labor Day long weekend! Crazy. I'm never really ready for summer to be over, especially when we never really had summer.
